Pink Sari Inc is run by a dynamo of female community leaders from diverse language groups from the Indian sub-continent – Tracey O’Brien
One of the best parts about working at the Cancer Institute NSW is the strong partnerships with community groups like Pink Sari Inc who play a critical role in promoting cancer screening. Pink Sari Inc is run by a dynamo of female community leaders from diverse language groups from the Indian sub-continent who promote breast, cervical and bowel screening, provide education and support and dispel myths and stigma related to cancer to women across NSW. Today they celebrated their 7th birthday!! Not only have these wonderful women, led by President Shantha Viswanathan, saved countless lives, the group has become a movement, a force and a brand in itself, deeply associated with cancer. It was a true honor to speak at the evident and be joined by Liverpool MP Charishma Kaliyanda and my colleagues Cancer Institute NSW Mary Mitchelhill and Sheetal Challam and Lisa Woodland and Jesusa Helaratne of NSW Multicultural Health Communication Service
