Yeon Wook Kim: Clinical Course of Synchronous Subsolid Nodules After Resection of Subsolid LUAD
Yeon Wook Kim, Assistant Professor at College of Medicine at Seoul National University, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Delighted to share our new publication on multifocal subsolid lung adenocarcinomas, published in Journal of Thoracic Oncology —
and especially happy to see it out during WCLC25!
In this study, we analyzed the clinical course of synchronous subsolid nodules (SSNs) in patients who underwent surgical resection for subsolid LUAD. While we observed a considerable proportion of nodules showing growth, neither the absolute number nor the mere growth of synchronous SSNs significantly impacted lung cancer–related mortality or overall survival.
These findings highlight the need for a more clinically meaningful growth threshold and a balanced treatment approach for multifocal LUADs presenting as SSNs.”
