National Cancer Institute (NCI) shared on LinkedIn:
“One of the challenges contributing to low clinical trial enrollment is matching patients with the right trial. The systems that match patients with clinical trials need to grapple with collecting data from fragmented sources and then dealing with inconsistencies in how that data are formatted. That’s why NCI is working with partners to lead the way in standardizing how these systems structure and exchange cancer-related data in electronic health records (EHRs).
If you’re interested in learning more about the program and the implementation guides, consider attending the USCDI + Cancer Clinical Trial Matching track at the 2026 CMS HL7® FHIR® Connectathon on July 14 at 3:00 p.m. ET.
The program welcomes anyone leading clinical trial care teams, researching clinical data, or working on EHR platforms.”
