“Patients with immunosuppression have 20 times higher risk to get skin cancer, their disease is more aggressive and we can’t treat them with systemic immune checkpoints blockers.
You would think that we know much about their tumor micro environment, right? Well, when I served as a co Chair at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) clinical trial planning meeting looking at, and developing concept for them, I found we don’t know much about it.
A multi center effort spanning across UT MD Anderson, Cleveland Clinic and Moffitt Cancer Center , investigated just that.
