Jim Baranski, Executive Director at Lung Cancer Foundation of America, shared on LinkedIn:
“This year’s ESMO brought 3 lung cancer studies to the symposium stage, and all three showed people living longer with the disease.
- Two were focused on biomarker-driven lung cancer, affirming Lung Cancer Foundation of America’s emphasis on biomarker testing through our patient education initiatives.
- One was in extensive-stage small cell lung cancer. Patients living with SCLC, and their families, have waited years for gains against this deadly disease, and what I saw at ESMO was hope.
The advances presented at ESMO sprouted years ago from the right conditions: a researcher with a great idea who found people willing to fund it. That’s why we invest in early-career scientists at LCFA.
Research works, so let’s make it possible together!”
