“We are excited to share that our work on developing CAR/VIPRa T-cells is published in Science Magazine, Translational Medicine today! In this study, we address key limitations in CAR T-cell therapy, including suboptimal product phenotypes and insufficient engagement of endogenous immunity. We identify vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) signaling as an immunosuppressive axis and develop an armored CAR T-cell platform that locally delivers a VIP receptor antagonist (CAR/VIPRa). These results highlight a strategy to simultaneously enhance CAR T-cell fitness and broaden anti-tumor immunity through microenvironmental modulation.”
