In this multicenter study involving 273 patients with metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC), we investigated the prognostic value of baseline vitamin D status and developed an externally validated prediction model.
Key findings:
- Higher baseline 25(OH)D levels were independently associated with longer progression-free survival (HR 0.64 per 10-ng/mL increase).
- Adding vitamin D to established clinical predictors improved model discrimination in external validation (C-index: 0.71 → 0.76).
- Our findings suggest that vitamin D status may provide additional prognostic information for risk stratification in mHSPC.
Further prospective validation is warranted before clinical implementation.
I sincerely thank all my co-authors, mentors, and collaborators for their invaluable contributions and support throughout this project.”
