EORTC – European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer shared on LinkedIn:

“How can we better capture, interpret and use patients’ experiences in cancer research and care?

At ISOQOL 2026, researchers from the EORTC Quality of Life Group (QLG) presented new findings spanning paediatric oncology, survivorship, patient-reported outcomes (PROs), questionnaire development, and methodological innovations in health-related quality of life (HRQoL) research.

Highlights included:

  • New paediatric HRQoL assessment projects designed with direct input from children;
  • The EORTC PRO Interpretation Guideline to support more consistent use of PRO data;
  • Validation of the EORTC QLQ-SURV100 questionnaire for cancer survivors;
  • Research aimed at improving patient-reported outcome measure (PROM) completion in clinical trials;
  • Recommendations to strengthen HRQoL assessment in mesothelioma research.
