Making Cancer Clinical Trials Accessible to Patients Across Europe – EORTC

EORTC – European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer shared on LinkedIn:

“Access to cancer clinical trials remains uneven across Europe, creating a gap between where research is available and where patients need it most.

In a new publication in ESMO Open, authors including EORTC CEO Denis Lacombe argue that access to clinical trials should be recognised as a core dimension of cancer care equity. The article calls for stronger support for multinational academic research, greater investment in research capacity, and policies that enable meaningful clinical trials across Europe.

As the authors conclude, Europe can only claim leadership in cancer research if patients across Europe have a credible route into that research.
