Ahmet Dirican, Professor of Medical Oncology at Medicana International İzmir Hospital, shared on X:
“The presence of an alteration in a gene does not necessarily imply the same biological or therapeutic significance.
The RAGNAR study suggests that FGFR alterations should be evaluated not only by their presence, but also by the type of alteration and its functional relevance.
In the RAGNAR study, responses were observed across selected target FGFR alterations, while the ORR was only 3.8% in the nontarget exploratory cohort.
Therefore, variant-level interpretation is important.”
