Sami Mansfield: The Importance of Prioritizing a “Real Food” Dietary Pattern
Sami Mansfield, Founder of Cancer Wellness for Life, shared a post on LinkedIn, by Nicholas DeVito, Assistant Professor of Medicine at Duke University, adding:
“Excellent reminder of the importance of emphasizing a ‘real food’ dietary pattern!
Too often we see a this or that depute especially around vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian and many others yet miss the most important part of the message!
And yes, fiber matters but it’s the ‘everything else’ that can fall under each of these categories!
Eat whole foods, mostly plants. Adequate protein and some healthy fats.”
Quoting Nicholas DeVito’s post below:
“The non-nutritive sweetener sucralose alters gut microbiome composition, leading to reduced efficacy of immune checkpoint blockade.
A reminder we can’t separate diet, microbiome, and immunity.”
Title: Sucralose consumption ablates cancer immunotherapy response through microbiome disruption.
