Uddiptya Goswami

Uddiptya Goswami began his oncology training in 2018, developing a broad, patient-centered skill set across medical and radiation oncology in India. After six years of structured training, he transitioned into a consultant role in Medical and Hemato-Oncology, focusing on evidence-based cancer care while contributing to systems aimed at improving access and quality of care in low- and middle-income settings.

His career has been shaped by several national and international mentorship and training opportunities. In 2024, he completed the year-long ESMO Virtual Mentorship Programme under Professor Benoit You, which strengthened his understanding of clinical trials.

He also completed an ESMO-sponsored fellowship in palliative and supportive care at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in Liverpool, gaining experience in symptom management, communication, and integrated oncology-palliative care pathways.

Dr. Goswami has a strong interest in health equity and improving the accessibility and affordability of cancer treatment. In 2024, he won the Roche National LEAP Programme for developing an innovative model aimed at improving access to immunotherapy in India. He is also part of the ISMPO Young Leader Programme 2026–2027 and the JCO Reviewer Mentorship Programme 2026–2027.

Academically, he co-authored the Geriatric Oncology chapter in the second edition of Clinical Oncology and has served as a peer reviewer for IJMPO and IJMIO, as well as a co-reviewer for JCO Global Oncology, Journal of Cancer Policy, and AACR journals. He has authored seven publications and presented his work at multiple international conferences.

He serves as co-Principal Investigator of the IPIROC ovarian cancer trial, has a planned role in the upcoming ICOSEE project, and is actively involved in teaching oncology residents through AMPOK, ISMPO, and other educational platforms.
