“In 2024, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital marked a year of tremendous progress. From advancing research to growing our campus and expanding our international reach, efforts this year reflect our commitment to improving the lives of children with cancer and catastrophic diseases everywhere.

The St. Jude Global Alliance saw continued growth, now connecting 369 medical institutions in 84 countries and fostering a worldwide community dedicated to treating pediatric cancer.

St. Jude announced the Center of Excellence for Structural Cell Biology, which will be led by recently hired Georgios Skiniotis, PhD.

The Office of Data Science was also launched with newly appointed Chief Data Scientist, M. Madan Babu, PhD, overseeing a $195M investment to expand our data enterprise, keeping St. Jude at the forefront of the data science revolution in biomedical science.

We increased our efforts in recruiting and fostering exceptional talent to advance patient care, research and operations, continuing the ambitious growth outlined in the St. Jude strategic plan.

Campus expansion is underway, including two 15-story towers to support our clinical work. St. Jude was also once again recognized by U.S. News and World Report as one of the top 10 pediatric cancer hospitals in the United States.

St. Jude researchers and clinicians received prestigious recognition for their contributions to science and medicine, including honors from organizations such as AACR, AAAS and the National Academy of Medicine, among others. St. Jude scientists remain among the most Highly Cited in the world, with 11 making the annual list.

This year also marked a decade of transformative leadership under James R. Downing, M.D., St. Jude president and CEO. Under his guidance, St. Jude has not only advanced fundamental research but also strengthened its values-driven culture.
