Selwyn Vickers Congratulates the Graduates of the 2025 Class of the GSK Graduate School
Selwyn Vickers, President and CEO of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, shared a post on LinkedIn by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, adding:
“Congratulations to the graduates of the 2025 class of the Gerstner Sloan Kettering (GSK) Graduate School. GSK offers the next generation of biomedical investigators a unique educational program in cancer science, and I know these graduates will have a big impact on the future of cancer care and research.”
Quoting Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s post:
“Congratulations to the 14 scientists who graduated from the Gerstner Sloan Kettering Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSK) this year!
Last year GSK also launched a first-of-its-kind PhD program — the Pat and Ian Cook Doctoral Program in Cancer Engineering. The inaugural class joined GSK in the fall of 2024.
The commencement address was given by Nobel laureate Dr. Carolyn Bertozzi, a professor of chemical and systems biology and of radiology at Stanford University. Dr. Bertozzi was presented with the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) Medal for Outstanding Contributions to Biomedical Science.
Dr. Miguel Francisco de Jesus, who conducted his thesis research in the lab of Dr. Morgan Huse, was this year’s student speaker. ‘We are probably not going to be the kinds of scientists that our mentors have been,’ he shares. ‘Although we gladly walk in their footsteps and stand on top of their shoulders.’
