Olushola Akapo: Cancer turned my world upside down in 2019

Olushola Akapo, Cancer Life Coach, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Cancer turned my world upside down in 2019 when I was diagnosed with stage 3 Triple negative breast cancer, as at that time I was making plans to move to the next level in my beauty business.

The treatments I had were mastectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation. It was a roller coaster of emotions for me because I had to seek assistance publicly to get my treatments done. This was a whole lot for me mentally but I didn’t allow it to get to me as I was more focused on winning cancer. I am thankful to God and the support of my Tribe I survived.

I’m now 4 years in remission and grateful as I count my blessings each day.

The journey made me so passionate, and energetic and to always put the best interest of people first before me, then I decided to turn my pain into purpose by providing community care and support to women living with breast cancer which birthed my Cancer life coaching.

I educate and create awareness on all my social media platforms.

I still have so many side effects I deal with but that doesn’t stop me from lending my shoulders to anyone going through the journey. I have successfully helped over a hundred women from diagnosis through treatment and survivorship. I provide them with accurate information and support during their tests, treatments, and their downtimes.

I even pay visits to some of the women during their treatment sessions.

I now run a patient-focused enterprise that provides chemotherapy kits and caring packs for patients after my battle with cancer. Through this caring pack, I reach out and provide peer support.

Please support me if you need to care or show love to a patient.

I share my story to create awareness because I believe stories save lives and give hope.

As we countdown to World Cancer Day I want you to know that your story is Unique, your feelings are valid, and so are your emotions, you have every right to feel whatever emotion you want without being criticized and also you’re allowed to heal at your pace.”
