“I am deeply honored to have been elected as UICC President-Elect 2024-2026. My heartfelt thanks go to all UICC members who voted and supported the campaign. This is not a personal victory, but a step forward in our shared fight against cancer.
Together, we will work to bring equity, innovation, and access to cancer care for all.
I look forward to working with the UICC President, Ulrika Årehed Kågström, my colleague CS Pramesh the board members and especially the Cary Adams led management that run the organization.

Dr. Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu is a global cancer advocate, a pediatrician, a UICC Board Member, UICC President-Elect 2024-2026, Founder of the Medicaid Cancer Foundation, and the Chairperson of First Ladies Against Cancer (FLAC). Dr. Bagudu is working with the state ministries of health, education, and women affairs to implement programs to sustainably improve menstrual hygiene, girl-child education, economic empowerment of women, and put an end to gender-based violence.
