Rahul Bhargava: Monocytes – The First Sign That Life Is Returning

Rahul Bhargava, Director and Head of Hematology, Hematooncology, and Stem Cell Transplant at Fortis Health Care, shared a post on LinkedIn:

Day +9 of BMT, in one of our outreach centres in Bihar.
Not the platelets, not the hemoglobin,
Not even the silent WBC count…

But you.

The first whisper of life – Monocytes.

You arrive quietly,
Yet you carry the loudest promise.

A seed sown days ago,
Now pushing through the soil of marrow,
Becoming a sapling of hope.

Tomorrow – counts will rise.
In days, a forest will return.

Red cells will breathe life,
Platelets will guard the flow,
And the body will remember…
How to live again.

O beloved Monocytes,
You don’t just appear in reports –
You restore faith.”
