Dr. Ruzanna Papyan is a pediatric oncologist, academic physician, and clinical researcher with a strong focus on sarcomas, neuroblastoma, and adolescent and young adult (AYA) oncology. She currently serves as Chief of the Pediatric Oncology Department at the Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Armenia (PCBDC) at the Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center, where she also leads the Musculoskeletal Multidisciplinary Working Group, coordinating complex care for pediatric bone and soft tissue tumors.

Dr. Papyan graduated from Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU) in 2016 and has been a faculty member at the Department of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology at YSMU since 2019, holding the position of Assistant Professor. In parallel with her clinical and teaching responsibilities, she has been actively involved in research and clinical trials, and since 2022 she has worked as a Clinical Research Physician at the Immune Oncology Research Institute in Yerevan.

Her academic training includes postgraduate education at Harvard University / Harvard Medical School, where she completed the Postgraduate Cancer Research Program (2019–2021). She is currently pursuing a PhD at Yerevan State Medical University, with her doctoral research focused on soft tissue and bone sarcomas in children and young adults, reflecting her core clinical and scientific interests.

Dr. Papyan is deeply engaged in international pediatric oncology collaboration and education. She serves as Co-Chair of the SIOP Global Health Network Adolescents and Young Adults (AYA) Working Group and, since 2022, has coordinated educational activities within the Global Neuroblastoma Network (GNN)—an international multidisciplinary tumor board platform supporting clinicians in resource-limited settings. She also completed a clinical observership at St. Anna Children’s Hospital in Vienna, further strengthening her international clinical exposure.

She is an active member of multiple professional societies, including SIOP, ESMO, ESO, SOHO, POEM, and the Armenian Association of Hematology and Oncology (AAHO). Dr. Papyan regularly participates in national and international conferences and contributes to educational and collaborative initiatives aimed at improving outcomes for children and young adults with cancer.

She is a Member of the Editorial Board of OncoDaily.
