Dr. Ninad Katdare, MBBS, MS, DNB, M.Sc (Advanced Oncology), DU Surgical Endoscopy, is a senior consultant surgical oncologist and one of India’s leading experts in abdominopelvic, gastrointestinal, gynecologic, and peritoneal oncology. He is internationally recognized as the pioneer of Pressurized Intraperitoneal Aerosol Chemotherapy (PIPAC) in India, and is among the very few surgeons in the country to have performed over 250 CRS/HIPEC procedures, establishing himself as a key figure in advanced peritoneal surface malignancy management.
Dr. Katdare practices at the HCG Cancer Centre in Colaba and Borivali, Mumbai, where he serves as Senior Consultant in Surgical Oncology, leading programs in gastrointestinal, gynecologic, and peritoneal cancers. His clinical expertise spans HIPEC, PIPAC, cytoreductive surgery, minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic oncologic surgery, fertility-preserving gynecologic oncology procedures, sphincter-preserving rectal cancer surgery, GIST, NETs, abdominal sarcomas, and complex abdominopelvic tumor management.
A highly trained surgeon, Dr. Katdare completed his postgraduate surgical oncology training at the prestigious Tata Memorial Hospital, followed by a Master’s in Advanced Oncology from Ulm University, Germany, where he was among the top-ranked graduates. He further pursued advanced international fellowships in HIPEC, peritoneal oncology, minimally invasive surgery, and gynecologic robotic oncology across leading global centers, including the European Surgical Institute in Hamburg; CHU Lyon Sud in France; IRCAD and IHU in Strasbourg; the University Hospital of Lausanne (CHUV), Switzerland; the European Institute of Oncology (IEO) in Milan; Galaxy Care Laparoscopy Institute in Pune; and Le Centre Oscar Lambret in Lille, where he completed a fellowship in gynecologic oncology.
Over the course of his distinguished career, Dr. Katdare has held key surgical oncology positions across major institutions in Mumbai, including Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital, Gleneagles Global Hospitals, S. L. Raheja Hospital, Nanavati Superspeciality Hospital, Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital (Navi Mumbai), Wadi ElNeel Hospital, and BSES MG Hospital, where he served as Consultant Surgical Oncologist, Division Head of Abdominopelvic Oncology, and Lead Surgeon for Peritoneal Cancer and Ovarian Cancer Clinics.
Dr. Katdare’s leadership in PIPAC and HIPEC has contributed significantly to expanding access to specialized peritoneal oncology treatments in India. His work is marked by an emphasis on precision surgery, organ preservation, minimally invasive techniques, and the integration of cutting-edge technologies in oncologic care. He is widely regarded for his expertise in managing rare and aggressive peritoneal malignancies, including pseudomyxoma peritonei, peritoneal mesothelioma, and advanced ovarian and colorectal peritoneal cancers.
With more than 12 years of experience, Dr. Katdare is also deeply engaged in surgical training, academic teaching, and international collaborations. He has participated in advanced courses at major European institutions and continues to contribute as a reviewer for scientific oncology manuscripts, reflecting his commitment to research and evidence-based oncology.
