Professor Florian Lordick is a leading medical oncologist and Full Professor of Medicine at the University of Leipzig, where he has served as Director of the University Cancer Center Leipzig since 2012. He also heads the Department of Medicine II, encompassing oncology, gastroenterology, hepatology, and pulmonology.
His clinical and translational research focuses on immuno-oncology and precision therapy in gastrointestinal cancers, with emphasis on multimodal treatment strategies and survivorship. His work is supported by major European and national funding bodies including the German Cancer Aid and the European Commission.
He has authored over 500 peer-reviewed publications and holds editorial leadership roles, including Editor-in-Chief of ESMO Gastrointestinal Oncology and Die Onkologie. He is Past-President of the International Gastric Cancer Association, former Director of Education at ESMO, and currently serves on the Executive Board of the International Cancer Foundation.
