Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) has announced the selection of Houston, Texas, as the site of a new state-of-the-art manufacturing campus, representing an approximately $2.3 billion investment.
The campus, which will be located at Generation Park in Houston, is expected to create nearly 500 skilled jobs and is designed to expand in scale, capabilities and workforce over time.
The project marks another step in BMS’ previously announced $40 billion commitment to invest in the United States over five years across research and development, technology and domestic manufacturing.
A Modular, Multi-Modal Manufacturing Campus
The approximately 600,000-square-foot campus will be designed as a modular, multi-modal manufacturing facility. According to BMS, its modular design will allow the company to add and reconfigure manufacturing capacity as needed in line with its current and future pipeline.
The facility’s multi-modal capabilities will enable BMS to manufacture different types of medicines, including small molecules, biologics and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), across a range of disease areas. The campus will support drug-product and finished-goods manufacturing from late development through launch.

Boerner said the project forms part of the company’s $40 billion U.S. investment commitment and will help BMS build domestic manufacturing capabilities to deliver future medicines and support scientific breakthroughs. He also highlighted the talent, infrastructure and partnerships available in Houston and Texas.
Built to Grow, Adapt and Scale
BMS said the architecture of the Houston campus will allow new manufacturing capabilities to be brought online as pipeline and commercial needs evolve. The site is also being designed with configuration flexibility to accommodate future developments in digital integration and automation. BMS said it expects the campus to grow in scale and capability beyond its initial configuration.

According to Shanahan, the facility will combine flexible, modular manufacturing with advanced digital capabilities, with a focus on speed, quality, reliability and consistent supply across multiple modalities.
New job opportunities
The new campus is projected to initially employ nearly 500 people in roles including operations technicians, production specialists, maintenance and engineering professionals, quality control and assurance experts, and site leadership and administration.
BMS also expects the project to create approximately 2,000 construction and other indirect jobs between 2027 and 2030 as the facility is built and brought online. The company selected Texas and Generation Park following an extensive competitive evaluation of multiple markets across the Central and Eastern United States.
BMS cited several factors behind the decision, including the emerging strength of the local life-sciences workforce, available incentives, proximity to utilities and transportation infrastructure, and the overall business climate.
Generation Park covers approximately 4,300 acres and serves as a hub for life sciences and advanced manufacturing. BMS already works with a contract manufacturer in Texas for both commercial and clinical-trial manufacturing. In 2025, the company had 250 clinical-trial sites across the state, supporting clinical research across its portfolio.
Through the Houston investment, BMS said it plans to expand its domestic manufacturing capabilities and establish a digitally advanced campus focused on speed, quality and resilience in how medicines are manufactured and delivered to patients.
