“New in Pediatric, Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer: Understanding young adult cancer survivors’ preferences may help inform physical activity programs that better fit their needs.
In a survey of 173 young adult cancer survivors, researchers explored how social support, health and cancer-related factors, and neighborhood environments were associated with preferences for physical activity.
Participants shared whether they preferred exercising alone or with others, where they wanted to be active, and whether they favored flexible or scheduled programs.
Findings suggest that personalized approaches to physical activity programming can start with considering survivors’ lives beyond their diagnosis.”
