Tigran Byuzandyan: Updates on the pilot lung screening program we implemented in November 2023
Tigran Byuzandyan, Thoracic Surgeon, Head of the Palliative Care Clinic at National Centre of Oncology, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Exciting News from the National Center of Oncology!
I’m thrilled to share updates on the pilot lung screening program we implemented in November 2023. We’ve made significant progress in our fight against lung cancer, with 72 patients undergoing low-dose computed tomography as part of this initiative.
Our results have been promising: we’ve detected and are closely monitoring two solitary nodules potentially cancerous, and identified 4 ground glass opacities (GGOs), that require ongoing observation.
On the eve of the International Day against Cancer, celebrated on February 4, 2024, we conducted the second stage of our research with 23 participants. I’m proud to report that our findings align with international standards and other established programs, underscoring the effectiveness of our approach.
Looking ahead, we’re committed to continuing similar programs to benefit our population and contribute to the global fight against cancer.
Together, we’re making strides in early detection and treatment, bringing hope to those affected by this disease. Let’s keep pushing forward in our mission to improve cancer care and save lives.”
