“First prospective study “Testicular Function After Immune-Checkpoint Inhibitors Treatment”
26 men (19–46y, Melanoma, 2 centers🇦🇺)
Do ICIs impair male fertility?
Evaluated semen + hormones before vs during treatment.
Results: -Total sperm: 193M→127M (↓34%, p=0.053) -Concentration: 61→43 M/mL (↓30%, p=0.075) -Motility & morphology: unchanged (NS) -FSH ↑ (p=0.04) → NS after excluding 1 azoospermia (<5%, autoimmune orchitis).
Modest, heterogeneous gonadal effect.
Consider sperm banking before ICIs and hormonal monitoring.”
