Khaled Elsayad: Pattern of care analysis of primary cutaneous lymphomas radiotherapy
Khaled Elsayad, Associate Professor at The Philipp University of Marburg and Consultant at University of Münster, shared a recent article on LinkedIn:
” Pattern of care analysis of primary cutaneous lymphomas radiotherapy.
51 respondents from 19 countries completed the EORTC survey.
Findings:
1) The radiation doses varied significantly (the RT dose for indolent types ranged from 4 to 46 Gy, while the primary cutaneous DLBCL-LT dose ranged from 12 to 60 Gy).
According to recent data, many patients are likely overtreated.
2) Nearly half of the radiation oncologists who do not have TSEBT at their institutions would like to establish the technique.
Actions taken:
1) Educational webinars to transfer the required experiences have been initiated by EORTC-YECI ROSC and CLTG.
2) EORTC-CLTG evidence-based recommendations for RT dose and fractionation in cutaneous lymphomas have been published and are available online.”
