ICR Joins King Charles and Queen Camila at Buckingham Palace to Celebrate Cancer Awareness Initiatives
The Institute of Cancer Research (The ICR) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“His Majesty King Charles and Her Majesty Queen Camila hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace to celebrate and recognise community-based initiatives raising awareness about cancer and supporting those living with cancer.
Among the guests were Professor Nick James, Professor Rosalind Eeles, Dr Masood Moghul and Liz Bancroft, from the ICR and The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, who are doing innovative and pioneering work in prostate cancer.
Nick and Masood have led a research project to evaluate the benefit of health screenings in the community using a mobile clinic called, The Man Van.
Ros and Liz are working on a ‘spit test’, which analyses DNA to identify those at greater risk of prostate cancer. Both initiatives are aimed at improving the early diagnosis of prostate cancer so the disease can be treated sooner and ensure patients are more likely to be cured.
It was a honour for the ICR to be represented at such a special event, showcasing the impact of our research and our commitment to defeating cancer.”
The Institute of Cancer Research shared its participation in a Buckingham Palace reception recognizing innovative community-based prostate cancer initiatives, including mobile screening clinics and DNA-based risk assessments.
