Françoise Meunier: Spain Launches a Comprehensive Q/A Guide on the Right to be Forgotten
Françoise Meunier, Vice President of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Belgium, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Spain Launches a Comprehensive Q/A Guide on the Right to be Forgotten.
On World Cancer Day, Health Minister Monica Garcia announced the publication of a comprehensive Q/A guide to clarify the Right to be Forgotten for cancer survivors, following the 2023 law ensuring cancer survivors do not have to disclose their history when seeking life insurance after 5 years relapse-free.
The Ministry in collaboration with the Directorate General of Insurance, the Directorate General of Consumer Affairs, the Spanish Data Protection Agency, and the Ministry of Health, has created a working group to ensure the document’s accuracy and relevance.
I sincerely hope this Q/A will facilitate the implementation of the law and facilitate access to financial services for cancer survivors.”
