“Three unforgettable months at the Radiotherapy Department of IOSI, Bellinzona.
Over the past three months, I had the privilege of completing a clinical fellowship in radiation oncology at the Istituto Oncologico della Svizzera Italiana (IOSI), with a particular focus on SBRT, advanced radiotherapy techniques, contouring, treatment planning and multidisciplinary cancer care.
I am deeply grateful to Prof Thomas Zilli, Dr Letizia DeAntonio Dr. Martucci and the entire IOSI Radiotherapy team for their warm welcome, guidance, generosity and willingness to share their knowledge. Their commitment to clinical excellence, teamwork and patient-centred care has been truly inspiring.
A special thank you also goes to the European School of Oncology and University Clinical Centre of Kosovo for making this opportunity possible. International training experiences like this are especially valuable for professionals coming from smaller and resource-limited oncology systems.
Above all , A very special heart thanks goes to my lovely husband for his constant support, patience with three kids and understanding during these three months away from home.
I return to Kosovo with new skills, new perspectives, valuable collaborations and renewed motivation to contribute to the development of advanced radiotherapy in my country.
