Breast Cancer Network Australia is recognized as a ‘gold standard’ patient advocacy organisation
Breast Cancer Network Australia shared on LinkedIn:
“‘This is the gold standard… BCNA is consistently and relentlessly seeking to push the envelope about ways in which we can improve the cancer journey for women experiencing breast cancer.’ – The Hon Mark Butler MP, Minister for Health and Aged Care.
We are honoured by the Minister’s acknowledgment of BCNA as a ‘gold standard’ patient advocacy organisation that is driven by lived experiences.
In his speech, The Minister highlighted recent international findings on the influence of Australian health consumer groups – like BCNA in shaping health policy.
We remain committed to ensuring that consumers—those at risk, those diagnosed, and those living with breast cancer—are central to informing all aspects of our work.
At the launch of our position statement in Parliament on prophylactic mastectomies for those with an inherited high risk of breast cancer, we were honoured to be joined by a group of BCNA Consumer Representatives, key cancer sector leaders and government officials whereby we successfully secured bipartisan support.
