“A federal government official teaches a room full of pulmonologists about ‘twelve different types of cancer associated with tobacco products.’

He explains the authority that the government has authorized the FDA to do to help the public with America’s tobacco problem.

We learned the initiatives below are now approved by the FDA and the desk of the White House for final signature, poised to help ~500,000 Americans who die every year because of their decision to ‘smoke for the nicotine and die because of the tar.’

Here’s a look at the next frontier for FDA legal authorizations and ‘money penalties’ being enforced through a collaboration with the US Department of Justice.

Drew Moghanaki, a Professor and Chief of Thoracic Oncology at the Department of Radiation Oncology, UCLA. He holds the Stanley Iezman and Nancy Stark Endowed Chair in Thoracic Radiation Oncology Research at the same university.
