Lisa Lacasse: No one should have to choose between affording food and paying for cancer care
Lisa Lacasse, President of American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, shared on LinkedIn:
“American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network‘s recent Survivor Views survey finds high costs of care are one of the leading causes of medical debt and food insecurity for cancer survivors.
With the ever-growing costs of medical care, it’s no surprise to see the individuals in active cancer treatment or with a recent cancer diagnosis elect free coverage of cancer preventive services and reduced medical debt as the leading healthcare issues facing them today.
We need to prioritize policies that make healthcare affordable for everyone and make medical debt less prevalent to ensure everyone has a fighting chance against cancer. No one should have to choose between affording food and paying for cancer care. Read more.”
