More than 200 people from 67 countries attended the St. Jude Global Alliance Convening – St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital shared on LinkedIn:
“When it comes to generating knowledge to improve access to quality care and increasing survival rates of children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases, St. Jude engages collaborators around the world.
This week, more than 200 people from hospitals and foundations in 67 countries traveled to Memphis to attend the St. Jude Global Alliance Convening. They were joined by 264 people who traveled from around the U.S. and 700 people who joined online. Topics for working discussions included Health Literacy as a Global Healthy Priority, Exploring Strategies for Building Global Research Capacity, Ensuring Cost-Effective Allocation of Resources and Addressing Financial Hardship, Exploring the Impacts of Global Pediatric Cancer Stigma and Improving Access to Quality Assured Essential Medicines for Childhood Cancer.
Updates were shared on St. Jude Global Alliance programs, including two relatively new programs — the Global Pharmacy Program, which aims to build a collaborative network of pharmacy professionals committed to caring for pediatric cancer patients and supporting the standardization and optimization of pharmaceutical care in resource-limited settings; and the Global Hematology Program, which is focused on building capacity and capability by addressing gaps in care for patients with catastrophic non-malignant blood disorders.”
