“Keeping the fight against cancer high on the political agenda in Europe is becoming increasingly challenging. The European Commission’s newly published review of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan highlights both progress and the long road ahead, but certainly also, that the momentum is fading.
At RPP Group we are deeply concerned about the potential for this crucial issue to slip down the priority list. Cancer remains a leading cause of death in Europe, and with an aging population, the burden on healthcare systems is only increasing.
We must not let the momentum gained from the Cancer Plan fade. Robust cancer screening programs, innovative treatments, and addressing disparities in care are non-negotiable. Policymakers, healthcare providers, and the public must stay vigilant and proactive.
I believe that through sustained efforts and collective action, we can continue to make significant strides in the fight against cancer. Let’s keep cancer on the political agenda and work towards accessible prevention and care for all.
