Akhil Santhosh: Short hydration in Cisplatin nephrotoxicity with reduced hospital stay

Akhil Santhosh, Medical Oncology Specialist at MVR Cancer Centre and Research Institute, shared a post on X about a recent paper by Apichart Jantarat et al. published in JCO Global Oncology:

“Short hydration of 1.5l over 4 hours is as safe as 3 l over 24 hours in terms of nephrotoxicity in patients receiving a dose of more than 60mg/m2 of cisplatin. The short hydration protocol had reduced hospital stay and less QOL deterioration.”
