About POEM
The Pediatric Oncology East and Mediterranean (POEM) Group was established in 2013 as a cooperative platform aimed at uniting healthcare professionals, physicians, and researchers from institutions across the East and Mediterranean regions. The group’s mission is to foster collaboration by sharing expertise, initiating joint clinical trials, and developing common strategies to optimize pediatric oncology care.
In addition to promoting cooperation in clinical research, the POEM Group focuses on capacity-building efforts, including training healthcare providers, raising awareness, and establishing pediatric oncology centers in underserved areas.
Through these initiatives, POEM aims to improve diagnosis, treatment outcomes, and long-term care for pediatric oncology patients, contributing to the overall global effort to enhance survival rates and quality of life for children with cancer in the region.
