We have made remarkable strides in diagnosing and treating various cancers. When detected early, the five-year survival rate for both breast and prostate cancer exceeds 90 percent. However, pancreatic cancer presents a major challenge, with a survival rate hovering around 12 percent; for most, the battle is tragically brief, often measured in months rather than years.
November shines as a beacon of hope and awareness for those affected by pancreatic cancer. In this light, we remember Pat Tarantino, whose brave 11-month battle with this brutal enemy ended on April 16, 2022. Her husband, John Tarantino, CEO of Iylon Precision Oncology and viral TEDx speaker with over 18 million views in less than 3 months, aims to transform grief into action.
In an extraordinary gesture of generosity, John and Pat’s legacy continues as they gifted their home and the life insurance policies on Pat’s life to Lifespan and made additional donations totaling $2.5 million for cancer research.
