Terence Rabbitts was recently elected as an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.

Professor Terence Rabbitts is a highly respected molecular biologist with a remarkable career spanning over 40 years.

He is currently a Professor of Molecular Biology at the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, where he has been leading innovative research since 2012.

His work at the MRC focuses on unraveling complex molecular mechanisms, with an emphasis on applications in cancer biology and therapeutic development.

Prior to his tenure at the MRC, Professor Rabbitts played a pivotal role at the Leeds Institute of Molecular Medicine from 2007 to 2012. During this time, he served as both Professor of Experimental Therapeutics and Head of the Section of Experimental Therapeutics.

He was elected a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences (FMedSci) in 1998, acknowledging his significant contributions to medical research.

Earlier accolades include the CIBA Prize in 1993 and his election as a Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS) in 1987. Additionally, he was awarded the Colworth Medal in 1981 and has been a member of the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) since then.

Education

Professor Terence Rabbitts earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with First Class Honours from the University of East Anglia in 1968.
