Trevor Mundel: Using the power of AI to support patient care and overcome health worker shortages
Trevor Mundel, President of Global Health at Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, shared on LinkedIn:
“It was great to be in Nairobi, Kenya recently to learn from our Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation partners about the work they are doing to advance innovation and leverage emerging technology to support solutions for AMR, TB, and more.
During my visit, I had the chance to hear how organizations, like Penda Health, are already using the power of AI to support patient care and overcome health worker shortages, and I was able to observe a live demonstration, with thanks to Stephanie Koczela and Robert Korom.
We also visited two of the Bill and Melinda Gates Medical Research Institute M72 investigational vaccine clinical trial sites and saw first-hand the enthusiasm around the potential of a new TB vaccine.
Leaving inspired and grateful to everyone who welcomed me.”
