Nirmala Bhoo Pathy: An inspiring meeting of the Lancet Oncology Commission on Human Crisis of Cancer

Nirmala Bhoo Pathy, Public health physician at the University Malaya Medical Centre, posted on LinkedIn:

“What an inspiring and heartwarming meeting of the Lancet Oncology Commission on Human Crisis of Cancer, held in beautiful (and I must add, warm!) Toronto!

We’ve made incredible progress since our last gathering in King’s College London.

We all fired up to move our agenda forward to bring back, or rather amplify, the human touch in how we care for people and families affected by cancer.

The meeting was both productive and collegial. We are all geared up to continue our work, complete the commission report, and make a real difference together.

A special shout-out to Gary Rodin, Miah Z., Hanae Davis, for your warm hospitality and kindness, which made our time super memorable. And having the meeting at the beautiful Faculty Club at the University of Toronto was the cherry on top!

Richard Sullivan, Murallitharan Munisamy, Catherine Walshe, we really missed you, but you were all very much with us in spirit.”
