“Earlier this week, I had the privilege of attending the United Nations SDG Summit Of The Future in New York.

This discussion held in the delightful SDG lounge, focused on the future of global health. It reaffirmed the need to place health at the forefront of the political agenda.

As we tackle the broad spectrum of global health, it’s imperative to prioritize women’s health and childhood cancer, particularly in regions with limited access to care.

Addressing these areas is not just about healthcare; it’s about being human, and creating equitable systems that leave no one behind.”

Dr. Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu is a global cancer advocate, a pediatrician, a UICC Board Member, Founder of the Medicaid Cancer Foundation, and the Chairperson of First Ladies Against Cancer (FLAC). Dr. Bagudu is working with the state ministries of health, education, and women affairs to implement programs to sustainably improve menstrual hygiene, girl-child education, economic empowerment of women, and put an end to gender-based violence.
