Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu: The voices of traditional rulers are the bridge between science and the people that need life saving information
Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu posted the following on LinkedIn:
“In African societies, the voices of traditional rulers are powerful. Their words carry weight, shaping the thoughts and actions of their people. That’s why it’s important to include and inform them of health messages. They are the bridge between science and the people that need this life-saving information.
During our recent outreach in the Maupeyi community of Mabushipe, Abuja, I met with the traditional ruling council and enlightened them about issues affecting their people, focusing on Cancers like prostate cancer, which targets men, and breast and cervical cancer, a leading threat to women.
We were able to share knowledge and help them understand these diseases that claim so many lives.
At MEDICAID CANCER FOUNDATION, we have long partnered with these community gatekeepers, ensuring that every person, regardless of their location, knows the importance of early detection and prevention.”
