Avirup Guha, Director of Cardio-Oncology at Georgia Cancer Center, shared on X about a recent paper by Priyanshu Nain et al. titled “Adverse Social Determinants of Health Elevate Uncontrolled Hypertension Risk: A Cardio-Oncology Prospective Cohort Study” published in JNCI Cancer Spectrum.
Authors: Priyanshu Nain et al.
“New in Journal of the National Cancer Institute (JNCI) cancer spectrum: Social determinants of health (SDOH) strongly impact hypertension control in cancer patients. Our study found that high SDOH scores are linked to a 77% increased risk of uncontrolled HTN.”
Raul Cordoba shared this post, adding:
“Very relevant topic about CardioOnc to be covered by OncoDaily, International Cardio-Oncology Society and OncoAlert. Thanks to Avirup Guha for highlighting how social determinants of health may impact hypertension control in cancer patients.”
