
Terry Fox New Investigator Awards
The Terry Fox New Investigator Awards provide substantial research operating grants to promising new cancer researchers in Canada, aiming to help launch independent academic and clinical research careers. These awards offer up to $525,000 over three years to investigators within the first five years of their first faculty-level appointment.
Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be within 5 years of their first faculty-level appointment at a Canadian institution.

Mentorship by two senior investigators is required, though they need not be affiliated with TFRI-funded programs.

Applicants from diverse backgrounds are encouraged.

Consideration will be given for career interruptions (e.g., parental leave, medical leave, COVID-19-related delays).
Funding Details

Total: Up to $175,000/year for 3 years

Covers: Research expenses (staff, supplies, equipment), travel and accommodations for scientific collaborations
