The St. Baldrick’s Foundation Research Grant Award 2027 supports hypothesis-driven pediatric cancer research projects with direct relevance to childhood cancer. The program provides up to $200,000 over two years for laboratory, clinical, translational, or epidemiological research conducted at eligible U.S.-based institutions.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Supports specific two-year, hypothesis-driven pediatric cancer research projects that may be laboratory, clinical, or epidemiological.
  • Research must have direct applicability and relevance to pediatric cancer.
  • Applicants should hold at least an MD, DO, or PhD by the award start date.
  • Applicants must work at an academic, medical, nonprofit research institution, or laboratory based in the United States.
  • U.S. citizenship is not required, provided the applicant works at an eligible U.S.-based institution.
  • Co-investigators and co-PIs are permitted, but the application must have one lead PI.
  • Each institution may ordinarily submit one LOI in each open St. Baldrick’s funding category.
  • 2027 funding-interest areas include rhabdomyosarcoma, selected brain tumors including AT/RT, DIPG/DMG and GBM, Burkitt lymphoma, and extrarenal rhabdoid tumors.
