The PCFC Grant-in-Aid Program supports innovative studies for improving diagnosis, treatment, management, and decision-making strategies specifically for prostate cancer patients, conducted by Canada-based investigators. Since its inception, the program has awarded over $2.68 million across 92 projects. The 2026 cycle opened April 1, 2026 and is currently accepting applications. Proposals with the potential to offer near-term benefits for patients with early-stage or recurrent prostate cancer and those addressing quality of life and disease management are especially encouraged.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Graduate students and clinical/post-doctoral fellows sponsored by Principal Investigators at recognized Canadian academic institutions
- Allied Health Care Professionals are also eligible as applicants
- Interdisciplinary and multi-institutional projects (including interprovincial or international collaborations) are accepted, provided the applicant and PI are full-time members at a Canadian institution
- Prior experience in prostate cancer research is not required
- For-profit employees are not eligible; each PI may sponsor only one application
Funding Details:
- Graduate Student–led awards: up to $35,000/year
- Clinical/Post-doctoral–led awards: up to $60,000/year
- Duration: 1 year; one renewal possible (subject to new application + progress report review)
- No overhead/indirect costs
