Gilead/Kite Canada’s Oncology and Hematology Community Grants program aims to support projects that tackle inequality in cancer care and improve the experience for individuals of marginalized communities across Canada. Projects supported include educational programs, cancer research and data collection, disease awareness initiatives, creation of accessible materials, increased screening and more.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants are considered from a broad range of not-for profit organizations and registered charities
- For-profit organizations are considered when the purpose is charitable and no profit will be made through funding
- Organizations should have an interest in improving health
- Projects should intend to positively impact specific communities within Canada
- Projects must have specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-sensitive objectives
Funding Details:
- Grant requests of up to $30,000 CAD will be considered, as well as smaller budget projects
- Requests for small-scale grants (under $6,500 CAD) will be considered and accepted throughout the year
- Grant requests must be proportional to the scope and impact of the project
- Unused grant funds must be returned at the end of the project
- Funding for projects over $30,000 CAD may be considered. Discussion with Gilead is necessary before application
- Funding cannot support equipment kept beyond the project timeline, medication purchases, clinical research or clinical trials
