The National Cancer Institute (NCI) Assay Validation of High Quality Markers for Clinical Studies in Cancer UH3 Grant supports the clinical validation of established molecular, cellular, and imaging biomarker assays for use in future cancer clinical studies and trials.

Projects may focus on markers for cancer detection, diagnosis, prognosis, treatment monitoring, prediction of treatment response or resistance, prevention, and cancer control. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible applicants include public and private institutions of higher education.
  • Nonprofit organizations, including those with or without 501(c)(3) status, may apply.
  • Foreign/non-U.S. organizations are not eligible to apply.
  • Foreign components of eligible U.S. organizations are permitted under NIH policy.
  • The investigative team should include appropriate expertise in cancer research/oncology, clinical laboratory science, and biostatistics.
  • Clinical trials are not allowed under this funding opportunity.
