The National Cancer Institute (NCI) Toward Translation of Nanotechnology Cancer Interventions (TTNCI) R01 Grant supports advanced preclinical development of nanotechnology-based cancer diagnostics and therapeutics using engineered nanoparticles and nano-devices.

Projects should address clinically relevant unmet needs and advance promising technologies toward translational readiness, including future GMP/GLP development and NCI translational programs such as NExT. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible applicants include public and private U.S. institutions of higher education.
  • Nonprofit organizations, with or without 501(c)(3) status, may apply.
  • Foreign/non-U.S. organizations are not eligible to apply.
  • Projects must involve advanced preclinical cancer nanotechnology research rather than early discovery-stage platform development.
  • Multidisciplinary leadership is expected, with expertise spanning areas such as oncology/biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, and relevant clinical expertise.
  • Clinical trials are not allowed under this R01 opportunity.
