The Lymphoma Research Foundation Clinical Investigator Career Development Award supports advanced fellows and junior faculty members preparing for independent careers in lymphoma clinical research.
The award helps physician investigators develop and lead clinical studies focused on new lymphoma therapies and diagnostic tools. Projects must be hypothesis-driven and primarily clinical, although related translational research aims may also be included.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be pursuing a career in lymphoma clinical research.
- Eligible clinical specialties include hematology/oncology, pediatrics, pathology, dermatology, radiation oncology, and other relevant accredited specialties.
- Applicants must have completed at least 24 months of fellowship or postdoctoral training.
- Applicants may have no more than six years of experience beyond completion of fellowship or postdoctoral training as of March 1, 2027.
- Applicants must commit between 35% and 50% of their professional time to lymphoma clinical research, free from major clinical, teaching, and administrative responsibilities.
- U.S. or Canadian citizenship or permanent residency is not required for the general award.
- Recipients may not simultaneously hold another career development award, including NIH K-series awards or comparable grants primarily supporting the Principal Investigator’s salary.
Funding Details:
- The award provides USD 375,000 over three years.
- Salary support is provided at USD 120,000 per year.
- An additional USD 5,000 per year may support research supplies or professional-development expenses.
- The applicant must dedicate between 35% and 50% of their time to the proposed clinical research and career-development activities.

Further Information:
- Research must focus on lymphoma or chronic lymphocytic leukemia and cannot combine these diseases with cancers or hematologic malignancies outside the recognized lymphoma classification. At least one clinical research aim must be the project’s primary focus.
- Applicants must submit a two-page Career Development Plan describing the training, educational activities, mentorship, research skills, and publication strategy that will support progression toward research independence.
- A primary institutional mentor is required, and applicants may include up to four associate mentors with complementary expertise. Three additional blinded letters of support are also required.
