The Lung Cancer Canada Breathe Forward Award is a new $200,000 national innovation challenge supporting practical and scalable solutions to improve how non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is diagnosed in Canada.
The award focuses on reducing delays and improving coordination, equity, and system performance across the diagnostic pathway, from initial suspicion and referral through imaging, biopsy, pathology, biomarker testing, and treatment readiness. The program encourages researchers, clinicians, health system leaders, innovators, and multidisciplinary teams to develop solutions that can be implemented and evaluated in real-world settings.
Eligibility Criteria
- Researchers, clinicians, health system leaders, and quality improvement and implementation teams may apply.
- Health system innovators and multidisciplinary collaborations are eligible.
- Partnerships involving people with lived experience are encouraged.
- Applicants may apply as individuals, teams, or organizations.
- The lead applicant must be based in Canada.
- Proposed projects must be feasible to implement, pilot, adapt, or evaluate within the 12-month funding period.
